Budgetku

G-Labs · React NativePersonal project

Budgetku is a budget planner and executor I designed, built and publish myself. Each pay period gets its own plan with its own dates, so the app follows your salary date instead of the calendar month. Income is allocated into groups and items until nothing is left unassigned, transactions are linked to those items, and the report shows spending per group, plan versus actual, daily spending pace and which items stayed under or went over. It works fully offline with no account; a single backup file can be saved to Google Drive or the phone's storage and restored later.

What I built

  • Allocation plans with custom periods: income into groups and items, unallocated remainder always visible, copy last period's structure.
  • Transactions linked to plan items so progress fills in automatically; search across all periods by note, category or amount.
  • Reports: spending-by-group donut, plan-versus-actual bars, cumulative spending pace, and the biggest wins and overruns.
  • Local-first data on expo-sqlite with a typed Drizzle schema and migrations; all reads and writes go through TanStack Query hooks.
  • One-file JSON backup and restore through the share sheet and file picker, including an optional Google Drive app-data folder.
  • Indonesian and English; IDR, MYR, USD, SGD, EUR and SAR formatting; light and dark themes; a small AdMob banner keeps it free.
